Sponsorship Project:

Bengal Florican Nesting Sponsorship Project

Protect Nests. Empower Communities. Save a Species.

The Bengal Florican is one of the world’s rarest and most endangered birds, with fewer than 140 adults remaining in Cambodia. Their survival depends not only on conservationists — but also on local farmers and villagers who share the land where these rare birds nest.

That’s where you come in. The Bengal Florican Nesting Project is a grassroots conservation initiative that provides financial support to villagers who discover Bengal Florican nests in their fields. Instead of disturbing or harvesting the nests, these villagers are incentivized to protect them — ensuring the eggs are safe until the chicks hatch and can fly.

Your donation directly supports:

  • Nest monitoring and protection
  • Community education and awareness
  • Incentives for local guardians of the nests

Ways to Contribute:

Donate $10 to $50 to support training, monitoring, and outreach.

Sponsor one full Bengal Florican nest for $150, covering protection costs and a reward for the local protector.

Every sponsorship helps:

Increase Bengal Florican survival rates

Promote coexistence between wildlife and agriculture

Build a conservation movement in rural Cambodia

Be a part of the story — help bring the Bengal Florican back from the brink, one nest at a time.
